Sevā: The Art of Serving from the heart

Trained in Acupressure Massage, Kripalu Bodywork and NeuroMuscular Reprogramming, I have been providing massages to satisfied recipients of all ages, shapes and sizes since 1992. From high end customers at the Ritz Carlton in Aspen Colorado and the Marriott Hotel in San Francisco, to well known actors and musicians on movie sets in British Columbia and throughout the Bay Area, I now prefer to work in the home setting on clients who are looking to unwind, deeply relax with the support and guidance of my presence and skilled and nourishing touch.
Among my many offerings in service to beauty, health and well being, I have arranged flowers for multiple weddings and other special events. I specialize in using edibles – fruits and vegetables – as key elements to adorn tables. I also cook nutritious and delicious meals for people on the go, elders, and small parties. Menu samples can be provided upon request. You’ll find some of my favorite dishes here. Flower arrangement sample photos are here.
With an English major degree from Georgetown University, I spent the past 21 years as the Communications Coordinator for the San Francisco Bay Joint Venture. There I served as the frontline contact and project manager for a variety of special events and created all of their printed and digital collateral – from website content, to newsletters, press releases, fact sheets, and brochures. We worked with a variety of audiences including partner organizations, elected officials and other environmental and special interest groups. I am now using my writing skills to help organizations and individuals write and edit position papers, environmental impact statements, personal bios, newsletters, website content and grant writing. While I build my communications page, you can check out the most recent website I developed content for here.
Ask any of my dog friends – Obi, Penny, Aurora, Blizzard, Bundle, Curly, Violet, Lily, Frankie, Marigold, Mao, Meeska, or cat friends – Mingus, Chester and Masala, or their “owners” and you may begin to understand the depth of my love, reliability and equanimity of care for all animals. Ever since my own German Shorthaired Pointer, Barney moved on to the great beyond, I’ve been caring for other people’s beloved animal friends as if they were my own. I’ve created a photo gallery of many here.

I had a major wake up call thanks to a serious car accident at the age of 16. Ever since, I have followed an intuitive approach to life with love and an open heart serving as my guide. My path is one of service and the question I carry with me is “where and what is needed of me now”. Along the way, this inquiry has led me to meaningful work including: being a Naturalist and Educator for the Audubon Society, spearheading regional communications for a Bay Area wetland restoration partnership (21 years), becoming a Certified Massage Therapist (in 1989), starting an after school Yoga program for kids in multiple Marin County schools, volunteering as a wildlife rehabilitator at Wildcare, singing at the bedside of people toward the end of life, in a kids band (Kid Kaleidoscope), a 4 women A Cappella group (Sweet Spot) and in the Marin County Jail (18 years) and creating inspired food and flower arrangements for many. In my 6th decade, I am ever more comfortable with the pausing and listening for where I am needed and how I can best serve.
